Community Trust in Policing

Community Trust in Policing

We will develop actions to improve race relations and law enforcement. Investment in these efforts will lead to better relationships between the community and law enforcement, increased transparency and accountability, and decreased violence in our communities.

The goal of this project is to ensure that community members feel heard, respected, secure, and empowered in their communities. We will work on efforts to strengthen our communities by addressing and developing actions to improve race relations and law enforcement. Investment in these efforts will lead to better relationships between the community and law enforcement, increased transparency and accountability, and decreased violence in our communities.

This project will:

  • Pursue data and feedback that allows police to better engage with residents and improve race relations and policing in our community
  • Deepen and broaden partnerships with community-based organizations to provide better channels of communications and programming
  • Work with city staff to proactively and constructively engage with residents in specific neighborhoods through avenues outside of law enforcement
